Find commonly asked questions about cleaning and maintaining your Gotya Covered seat covers here.
To maintain the durability and appearance of your Gotya Covered seat covers, it’s a good idea to clean them every 2-4 weeks, depending on usage. For off-road adventures or heavy-duty work environments, cleaning more frequently is recommended.
For heavily soiled seat covers, it is best to remove them from the vehicle before cleaning. Start by vacuuming away loose dirt and debris. Then, use a damp cloth with cold water to gently wipe the affected areas. Do not use harsh chemicals and avoid scrubbing to preserve the waterproof and UV-resistant coating. For stubborn grime, a mild, all-purpose cleaner such as Nifti can be used sparingly. It is recommended to spray a small amount onto a damp cloth, and then gently wipe the stained area. Be sure to air dry the covers in the shade. They can then be refitted to your vehicle and then you are ready for your next trip!
To tackle tough stains: Spot clean using a damp cloth with cold water. For deeper stains, use a mild all purpose cleaner such as Nifti. Apply to a damp cloth first, then gently dab the stain—don’t rub—to avoid damaging the fabric’s protective coating. Always test any cleaning product on a small, inconspicuous area first.
We recommend not using cleaning agents at all. Do not use bleach, solvents, or harsh detergents, as these can damage the waterproof, UV, and rot-resistant properties of the fabric. Abrasive scrubbers should not be used, as they can scratch and damage the material may cause wear to the material.
For Denim Covers:
The denim can be machine washed on a gentle, hand wash / delicate cycle. All Velcro straps must be fastened. Do not use any detergent or fabric softeners to preserve the treatment that has already been applied to the fabric.
Pet hair can be easily removed by vacuuming with a soft brush attachment. For stubborn hair, use a lint roller to lift it from the fabric. Regular cleaning will help minimise buildup.
